Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work on a 24-bed Med Surg Tele unit caring for all types of medical surgical patients including overflow post-op surgical hips/knees and psychiatric patients
• Patient ratio of 4-5:1
• Remote tele tech unit monitoring
• Heparin drips administered on unit
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend shifts scheduled as needed
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless unit is closed
• Minimum 24 months of experience in Med Surg or Med Surg Tele required
• Charge experience required
• Preceptor experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience caring for psychiatric patients preferred
• Navy blue solid scrubs required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• No blocked shifts - department prefers candidates willing to extend past initial 13-week contract
• First-time travelers accepted
