PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - Pre Op

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Up to 40 hours of time off may be approved per contract
• Work in a 10-bed Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care
• Care for patients in the 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU) requiring overnight observation or extended recovery up to 23 hours following surgery
• Provide comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized patient care
• Perform ongoing assessments, manage pain and recovery, provide patient and family education, and coordinate safe discharge planning
• Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Subject to 50-mile radius rule
• Must float within scope of practice as needed
• Self-scheduling unit
