Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Every third weekend rotation required
• Must be willing to work some holidays
• Float between ICUs and floor assignments as needed
• Occasionally precept respiratory therapy students as this is a teaching hospital
• Provide airway management including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy suctioning
• Administer medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, and Xopenex
• Operate medication delivery systems including aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, and metered dose inhaler
• Use nebulizers including hand held, T-piece, trach collar, and ultrasonic
• Provide high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygen therapy
• Manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) results
• Must be comfortable managing mechanically ventilated patients
• Primary ventilators used are PB840s and PB980; Hamilton ventilators are limited
• Epic charting system experience required
• Scrub color: medium to dark gray
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, RRT, ACLS
• Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License required
• Strongly preferred: Active AARC membership and a bachelor's degree or higher in any field, or actively working towards a bachelor's degree
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
