Med Surg RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg/Rehab unit at Carlsbad Medical Center, a 13-week night shift assignment beginning August 31, 2026. This role offers you the opportunity to deliver direct patient care in a structured healthcare environment while building your experience.

Shift and Schedule

• Night shifts: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week (48-hour weekly guarantee)
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request

Your Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document nursing care
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
• Perform patient tests and administer medications within registered nurse scope of practice
• Promote patient independence through education and goal setting
• Teach patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills
• Float between units as needed

Position Requirements

• Associate's degree with registered nurse certification
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 1+ years nursing experience
• Valid fingerprint clearance for New Mexico travelers
