Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Med-surgery telemetry unit with potential floating to alternate campuses
• Weekend coverage required
• 16 orientation hours
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Primarily geriatric patient population
• Unit census of 23 with 34 beds and 34 rooms
• Charting system: Epic (required)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NICHE (certifications must be AHA or ARC)
• Valid California state nursing license required
• 2 references obtained within the last year required
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin and IV insulin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Common patient diagnoses include delirium/AMS, heart failure, falls/hip fracture, cellulitis, acute renal failure, community-acquired pneumonia, UTI, and CVA
• Lift equipment required
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
