MRI Technologist Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is hiring a Pediatric MRI Technologist for its imaging department in Rochester, NY. You will work Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, with schedule flexibility based on unit needs. There is no on-call responsibility.

Your Role

You will operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently while scanning pediatric patients from neonates through age 18. Your responsibilities include:

• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures in age-appropriate terms to ensure comfort
• Screen and identify contraindications for safe scanning
• Adjust scanning parameters to accommodate patients of various ages
• Operate Siemens scanners according to MRI safety policies and guidelines
• Independently determine when a scan must be stopped due to motion, and identify when sedation or anesthesia is needed
• Coordinate with physicians to ensure timely delivery of diagnostic imaging results
• Maintain patient confidentiality and complete all procedure documentation
• Perform patient care tasks as needed and maintain a clean, safe scanning facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
• Minimum 6 months of pediatric MRI experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Siemens scanner experience
• ARRT certification
• NYS Radiology Technologist License (candidates without the license at submission may be considered but must obtain it prior to start date)
• BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology
• Ability to stand for extended periods and familiarity with medical terminology

Assignment Details

This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026. You will earn $1,732 per week for your 8-hour shifts.
