ED RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This is a 90-day travel assignment starting August 16, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency room environment. Your responsibilities include assessing patients with a wide range of medical conditions, from routine cases to high-acuity emergencies. You will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practitioners, and the broader care team to deliver timely, evidence-based treatment and support to patients and families during critical moments.

Schedule & Compensation

• Shift: 3x12 nights per week
• Every other weekend on-call hours required
• Weekly pay: $2,316.60
• Assignment duration: 90 days

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and vital sign monitoring
• Manage emergency protocols and respond to high-acuity situations
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered
• Document patient information accurately and timely
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Provide compassionate care and patient education

Requirements

• Current RN license (Iowa)
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Ability to work nights and on-call weekend hours
• Strong critical thinking and time-management skills
