Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12 and 4x12 shift schedules available
• Weekend coverage required
• Self-scheduling
• Float required as needed within hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby
• 36 orientation hours
• 1 year of experience required
• Minimum 18 months of experience preferred
• Solid neurology experience required
• MS/Tele or PCU RN background accepted
• Mixed acuity unit comprised of both medical surgical and progressive levels of care
• Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary
• MS patient ratio 1:5-6 and PCU patient ratio 1:3-4; daytime ratio 1:4-6 acuity based
• Daily census of 29-31 patients across 31 beds
• Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
• Manage cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips
• Care for unstable stroke patients and manage BiPAP
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, CVA management, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, vasoactive drip management, chemotherapy monitoring, telemetry, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, post watchman and ablation care, and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Scrub color: red top, black bottoms

• Interdisciplinary support includes: physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
