PCU Registered Nurse Job in Utica, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at MVHS Inc., serving adult patients ages 18 and older in a 64-bed unit with 15 designated Neuro beds. This role requires you to deliver skilled nursing care to patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.

Schedule and Expectations

• Work 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Floating to other units is required
• Wear navy blue scrubs

Patient Population and Conditions

You will care for patients with diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory, COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative cases. Many patients require specialized equipment and advanced monitoring.

Clinical Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU or PCU
• Demonstrated travel nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Experience managing specialty equipment including temporary pacer, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo
• Ability to work with chronic ventilator patients unable to wean, with respiratory therapy support available

Credentials and Licensing

• Active New York RN license required with NURSYS verification
• AHA BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Position Details

This is an 89-day travel assignment starting September 21, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,383.33. Block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed. You will be part of a team committed to delivering compassionate care to patients with complex needs.
