Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking an RN for a 13-week contract assignment in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This is a full-time position offering a competitive weekly pay of $1,831.

Assignment Details

  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM nights)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week
  • Duration: 91 days, beginning June 26, 2026
  • Rotating weekend schedule required
  • No on-call requirements

Role Responsibilities

You will provide critical care to cardiovascular patients, including those recovering from CABG, VAD placement, and catheterization procedures. You will manage hemodynamic monitoring with Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines, ventilator support, and cardiac devices including IABP, Impella, and ECMO. Documentation is completed in Meditech.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
  • Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, arterial line management, and ventilator care
  • Training on CVICU devices and cardiovascular support systems

Preferred Skills

  • IABP and CRRT exposure
  • Meditech charting and order entry experience

Facility Expectations

  • Dress code: Navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket
  • Hair must be neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors
  • Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be neatly trimmed
  • Body art should be covered when possible
  • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
  • Nails must be clean and healthy
  • Clock-in time is 6:38 AM/PM; arrival after 6:45 AM/PM is considered tardy
  • Full 30-minute lunch break required each shift
  • Badge in and out for each shift
  • Floating per facility policy required
