PCU RN Job in Louisville, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a 12-hour shift role with an 89-day duration, starting October 5, 2026. You will earn $2,241 weekly.

In this role, you will deliver professional nursing care centered on the whole patient within a healing-focused environment. Your responsibilities include:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments aligned with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental needs
• Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints through objective and subjective data collection
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists in collaboration with the inter-professional team
• Apply all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity in clinical decision-making
• Base nursing practices on evidence, current research, hospital and department policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
• Provide direct patient care including nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities efficiently
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in performance of patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated care provided by other team members
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
• Apply a holistic perspective regarding all aspects of patient care

This position requires an RN credential and offers the opportunity to work in an established healthcare system while maintaining flexibility through travel staffing.
