NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Job Details:

• Work in a Level III NICU within the Pediatrics Department
• Shift options available: 3x12s or 4x12s
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Floating required within the Pediatrics department and NICU
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local Indiana residents are not accepted for this position
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Charting system experience required: Cerner
• Community hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, NRP Advanced, STABLE
• Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, blood glucose monitoring, breastfeeding support/handling of breast milk, bubble CPAP, conscious sedation, developmental care, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hyperbilirubinemia, neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal sepsis, oxygen delivery systems, patient/family teaching, pediatrics, phototherapy, respiratory distress syndrome, seizure disorders, sepsis work up, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), telemetry monitoring, thermoregulation, UVC, Vapotherm, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Unit consists of 12 rooms and 12 beds with an average daily census of 8.5
