Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend scheduling required
• 46-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Document using Meditech Expanse system
• Operate equipment including GE Apex Pro Telemetry box, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA IV pump, Welch Allen Vitals machine, and Glucometer
• May float to 3 South (post-surgical med/surg) or PCU (to staff telemetry overflow)
• General med/surg skills required including EKG interpretation, CPAP management, and port access
• Telemetry experience and post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention experience required
• Preferred advanced skills include chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, and blood transfusions
• Procedures performed on unit include telemetry monitoring and paracentesis
• Minimum two years of med/surg experience required
• Required certifications: Active nursing license in good standing, BLS required, ACLS preferred, current NIH stroke certification (must be certified annually)
• Dress code: Navy blue or gray scrubs required; no T-shirts, fleece jackets, or sweatshirts; scrub jackets and long sleeve shirts under scrub tops permitted in any color or pattern; NO royal blue scrubs permitted
