Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts
• Unit accepts 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required to any other Med/Surg Tele areas
• 36 hours of unit orientation provided
• Scrubs color required: Navy
• Preferred scheduling type; block scheduling cannot always be guaranteed
• If a traveler calls out of a shift, they are expected to make up that day the same week or at the end of their contract
• RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience
• Must have at least 2 successful travel contracts prior to applying - first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required skills: IV Start, Telemetry, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Med/Surg Neuro experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: ACLS
• Charting systems used: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Primary patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neuro diagnoses
• Unit includes a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Patients served: Adults and Geriatrics
