Med Surg RN Job in Roseburg, OR

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit at CHI Mercy Health Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, Oregon. This is a night shift position: you'll work three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The assignment runs for 91 days, starting November 16, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,155.

Unit Environment

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on both day and night shifts
• Charge nurses available on each shift with no patient assignment
• Two Break Nurses per shift to support patient care
• CNA support available at a 1:7 ratio during days and 1:11 ratio at night, handling ADLs, personal care, vital signs, and CBGs if delegated

Patient Population and Clinical Tasks

• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CHF, COPD, renal disease, sepsis, stroke, and overflow general surgical cases
• You will not be required to titrate drips; common medications include Heparin per protocol and antibiotics
• Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP and occasional BiPAP
• Telemetry monitoring uses a Philips system; the tele tech reads strips and sends data to the EMR, but you must verify all rhythms
• Charting is completed in MEDITECH

Scheduling and Orientation

• Weekend and holiday requirements based on unit staffing needs
• Floating may be required to the surgical floor and PCU within your skillset on a rotation basis
• Standby or call may be assigned up to three times during the contract or available on a volunteer basis
• Unit orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts
