Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; community hospital experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Travel experience required; candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Minimum 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Must be willing to float to MS/Tele units
• No block scheduling available
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must match the regular assigned shift length
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy
• Free parking available
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, blood product administration, central line care and management, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, CVA, surgical drains, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of ABGs, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Preferred skills include: sheath removal, accessing ports, phlebotomy, and total joint replacements
• Patient diagnoses include: AMI, cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, chest pain, vascular/PVD, intermediate level of care, sepsis/infection, pneumonia, ETOH withdrawal, SI, and GI bleed
• Special procedures include: pre/post cath patients and femoral line/groin site management
• Special equipment: telemetry
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
