RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in the NICU
• Every other weekend required with holidays as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Scheduling managed by manager or scheduler; no self-scheduling
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU
• Extensive Level IV NICU experience required; Level 1 or 2 NICU experience will not be considered
• Must have at least one prior travel assignment
• NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Medication system: Pyxis
• Patient ratios: 1:1-3/4 based on acuity
• Ancillary assistance available with 1-2 PCTs per shift
• Floating required within the ICU cluster (NICU, PICU, and Burn); travelers are first to float
• Expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing
• Facility dress code must be followed
• Equipment includes: GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV
• Respiratory and Anesthesia available for support; RTs manage ventilators
• Patient population includes: 23-week micro-premies, VLBW, complications of prematurity, general surgeries, chronic lung, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro, cleft lip/palate/mandible, transfers from surrounding Level II NNICUs, PDA ligations, and body cooling
• Average patient length of stay is 40 days
• Must pass fit test; no facial hair unless for religious beliefs
• Must test negative for nicotine
