RN - NICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
• Holidays required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Scheduling managed by manager or scheduler; no self-scheduling
• Patient ratios of 1:1-3/4 based on acuity
• 1-2 PCTs per shift for ancillary assistance
• Must have Level 4 NICU experience (Level 1 or 2 NICU experience will not be considered)
• Must have at least 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS
• EPIC EMR experience required; medication system is Pyxis
• Floating is required within the ICU cluster (NICU, PICU, and Burn); travelers are first to float
• Expect 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing upon start
• Facility dress code must be followed
• Equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV
• Respiratory and Anesthesia available for support; RTs manage ventilators
• Advanced Practice is present on the unit
• Typical patient population includes 23-week micro-premies, VLBW, complications of prematurity, general surgeries, chronic lung, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro, cleft lip/palate/mandible, transfers from surrounding Level II NNICUs, PDA ligations, and body cooling
• Average patient length of stay is 40 days
• Must test negative for nicotine
