ED Registered Nurse Job in Castro Valley, CA

Sutter Health Eden Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department in Castro Valley, California. You will provide direct patient care in a 30-bed, 24-room facility that serves approximately 130 patients daily across all age groups—from neonates through geriatrics.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver emergency nursing care for acute and critical presentations
• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1 across all shifts and days of the week
• Perform triage, IV placement and maintenance, blood product administration, and central line care
• Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gas values
• Manage behavioral health conditions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response, and social services
• Document patient care using the Epic electronic health record system

Requirements:

• Valid California RN license
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• Travel healthcare experience
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA) certifications
• TNCC certification required within 90 days of start date
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Schedule and Compensation:

This is a 91-day travel assignment with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week. You will earn $2,555.19 weekly. Lift equipment is available on the unit to support safe patient handling.
