Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Work with patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30
• Neuro/Stroke PCU floor covering respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients
• Titrating cardiac drips required with continuous telemetry monitoring
• Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, neuro stepdown, non-invasive airway management, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown care, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post neurosurgery care, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation
• Unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR; Epic experience preferred
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• No block scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
