Med Surg RN Job in Plano, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 36-bed Orthopedic Trauma specialty Med/Surg unit at Medical City Plano. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026, with night shift hours from 7 PM to 7 AM on a 3x12 schedule.

Unit Overview

• Patient ratio of 1:5 with flexibility to 1:6
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs
• Telemetry monitoring and Meditech EMR system
• Royal blue scrubs required
• 4 weekend shifts commitment required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for polytrauma patients and non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine, ortho, and trauma services
• Manage downgraded TBI patients, patients with no more than 3 drains, and burn downgrades
• Administer Heparin and Protonix drips
• Float to all Med/Surg units as needed

Requirements

• RN licensure in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
• BLS certification required
• Orthopedic and/or trauma patient experience preferred
• Team player mentality strongly preferred

Compensation
