PICU Nurse Job in Anchorage, AK

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours up to 36 hours per week
• Block scheduling available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Patient ratios: PICU 1:2; Pediatric floor 1:4; Ventilated patients typically 1:1
• Float required within scope to NICU and Pediatrics as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must be culturally sensitive to Native Population
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Charting system: Cerner; Epic experience preferred
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required skills include but are not limited to: ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, central line care, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, pediatric dosage calculations, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, tracheostomy care, and interpretation of arterial blood gases
• Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, and pediatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Alaska nursing license required prior to start; compact license accepted at time of submittal with proof of full AK license application submitted
