Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Charlottesville, VA

University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment in its children's hospital. You will work nights on a 3x12 schedule with the flexibility to choose between 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation is required. Self-scheduling is available; your manager will work with you to accommodate preferences when possible.

You will provide respiratory care across multiple pediatric units, including NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics. Your responsibilities include:

• Caring for neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients
• Operating the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
• Floating within your scope of practice as clinical needs require
• Documenting care in the Epic electronic health record system

Required Qualifications:

• Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential
• Level 4 NICU experience
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
• BLS, NRP, and VA State License
• Epic experience
• Valid Virginia license (pending license accepted if temporary license obtained before start date and another state license is held)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cardiac PICU experience
• PALS certification
• ACCS certification
