PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 3x12 alternating day/night shifts, with 4x12 scheduling also considered
• Patient ratio is 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
• 5 weekends scheduled within each 6-week schedule; weekend coverage may consist of either a Saturday or Sunday shift
• No on-call requirement
• Float to Pediatrics and Pediatric ED as needed within scope of practice
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Central line and PICC line management experience required
• Experience with anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, and pediatric dosage calculations required
• ICP monitoring experience required
• Must be comfortable caring for ventilated pediatric patients and managing acute airways
• BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management experience required
• Care for infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients with diagnoses including respiratory distress/failure, DKA, seizures, pain management, and sepsis
• Manage patients requiring moderate sedation, continuous drips, arterial lines, and central lines
• Special equipment experience required: ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP
• Charting system: Cerner experience required
• Scrub color: Navy pants
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS, PALS, and Basic EKG
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
