Certified Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• Work 5 days per week with 8-hour shifts from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Weekend availability required
• On-call requirement is required
• Floating to other locations required
• Hospital scrubs provided as dress code
• EMR system used: EPIC
• Prepare and care for pre-operative patients, including skin preparation for surgery in accordance with established standards
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite and position patients according to the type of surgery
• Set up Operating Room tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case
• Establish and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments and sutures to the physician, and assist as directed
• Proficiency in scrubbing 3 specialty areas highly preferred, including but not limited to Transplants, Open Heart, Urology, Neurology, Titanium Rib, and Robotics
• Utilize physician preference cards when pulling cases and setting up the OR
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment
• Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for patient and personal safety in all patient care situations
• Identify and care for biological specimens
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
• BLS certification via AHA required
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required
