Job Details:

• Whole House Float position requiring comfort working across all ICU, PCU, and MS units
• 3x12 night shifts scheduled from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM; 4x12 shifts available upon request
• Staffing needs re-evaluated every 4 hours, with potential to float 2-3 times per shift
• Day shift floats may occur at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM; Night shift floats may occur at 11:00 PM
• Will float to all ICU, PCU, and MS units depending on house needs; one MS unit (Inpatient Rehab) is located at a Community Hospital a couple blocks from the main hospital
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week contract
• ICU average ratio 2:1; PCU average ratio 5:1; MS average ratio 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)
• Must be comfortable working with ratios of at least 1:5
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience from a large Level I or Level II facility required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required clinical skills include: IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care and management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Must be proficient in trach management, non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Must be able to work without CNA support
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• Previous charge experience preferred; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Self-scheduling environment
