Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

Skyline Medical Center is seeking an RN for a Med Surg backfill position on a 34-bed unit. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), with two weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule. This is a 91-day contract assignment beginning August 3, 2026.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a patient ratio of 6:1
• Perform bedside assessments, prioritize care, and multitask across multiple patients
• Start IVs, manage basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Conduct bedside shift reports and involve patients and families in the plan of care
• Document care in the Meditech system

Unit Resources

• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit secretary available 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Med/Surg experience with ability to prioritize and multitask
• Proficiency in IV starts, wound care, drain and tube management
• Navy scrubs required (tops and bottoms)

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,944

Note: Contract labor is first to float with rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled.
