ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 36/48 hour alternating schedule with 84 hours guaranteed biweekly
• Weekend coverage required
• Block scheduling type
• Support both the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)
• CDU is run by an ED provider with stable, independent patients at ratios up to 5:1
• 62-room emergency department with a daily census of 190
• Patient population includes neonates through adults
• 3 years of experience preferred; minimum 2 years accepted if traveler has worked in a high volume or trauma facility
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Additional certifications preferred: CPI, MAB, ENPC
• Must be proficient in a wide range of emergency skills including arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, procedural sedation, and ventilated patient care
• Must be comfortable managing trauma cases including gunshot wounds, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and traumatic amputations
• Must be comfortable with triage, 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, splint application, and starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with behavioral and psychiatric patient management required, including suicidal patients, acute psychosis, and psychiatric holds
