ED RN Job in Austin, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at North Austin Medical Center, a 32-bed facility serving the Austin area. This is a 13-week contract assignment with night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, working 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts per week.

Role Overview

Your responsibilities will include patient assessment, emergency care delivery, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team. You'll manage a patient ratio of 4:1 and work in a fast-paced environment where you anticipate both patient and department needs. The schedule requires 4 weekend shifts per rotation, with no on-call obligations.

Clinical Procedures

You'll be involved in a variety of emergency procedures, including:

• Lumbar punctures
• Intubations
• TNK administration
• Laceration repair
• Suture removal
• Splinting

Requirements and Qualifications

You must hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS—all required by your start date of November 30, 2026. Greater than 2 years of emergency nursing experience is preferred. You'll use the Meditech EMR system.

Work Environment

Dress code is navy blue scrubs with a navy blue zip-up sweater; pull-over sweatshirts are not acceptable. You'll be part of a collaborative team in a high-acuity setting where strong communication and clinical judgment are essential.

Compensation and Duration
