Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 36 or 48 hours per week considered
• Self-scheduling
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float between South and North campus as needed
• Patient ratios of 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patients include adults and geriatrics with primarily med-surg diagnoses, including TIA/CVA patients
• Does not accept cardiac patients such as ACS, NSTEMI, cardiac-related elevated troponins, cardiac cath with intervention, or patients requiring cardiac drips/insulin drips
• 2 years of experience in service line required
• Prior travel experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Altera charting experience preferred, not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, CVA management, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, MS/Tele, oxygen administration, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care/management, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
• Special equipment used on unit includes Alaris IV pumps, Sara Steady and Hoyer lift equipment, and tele-neuro/tele-psych cameras
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
