About this role

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 36-bed Telemetry unit. This is a 98-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, working 3x12 night shifts at $1,918.08 per week.

Role Overview

You will care for adult to geriatric patients with a typical ratio of 1:4–5 on a unit with an average daily census of 35. The Telemetry unit manages patients with CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues. You will manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Bumex, and Heparin.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Georgia or Compact nursing license required at submission
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation
  • Cardiac telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
  • Central line, PICC line, chest tube, and tracheostomy care
  • BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • ABG interpretation, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols
  • Blood product administration and wound care/wound vac
  • Post cardiac angiogram, MI, cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care

Assignment Details

You will wear navy blue scrubs and work every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Floating within the facility and scope of practice is required. There are no on-call requirements. The unit provides access to Sara Steady and other lift equipment, plus interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.

Time Off & Holiday Work

You may request a maximum of 7 days off per contract. All RTO must be finalized at submission; no requests can be made post-offer or on-site. No time off during orientation week (Monday–Sunday). RTO blackout applies April 4–12 (Spring Break). Holiday work is expected: if 1–2 major holidays fall within your assignment, you work both; if 3 major holidays fall within your assignment, you work two. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
