ED Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester — Unity Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, offering 4x12-hour night shifts at $2,937 per week.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment with a typical patient ratio of 1:5
• Float to other departments when census demands it
• Manage patients across all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Document all care using Epic electronic health record system

Required Clinical Competencies

• Phlebotomy and IV placement (mandatory proficiency)
• 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Central line care and management
• Blood product administration
• IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• CVA management and isolation precautions
• Psychiatric holds and suicidal patient care
• Drug overdose and emergency medication management
• Splint application
• Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management

Qualifications

• Active New York state nursing license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year emergency department experience; 1.5 years preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Residency requirement: must live more than 75 miles from facility

Additional Details

• Every other weekend requirement
• Block scheduling will be attempted but is not guaranteed
• Maximum 10 days requested time off
• Scrub attire: any combination of navy and white
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
