ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 28, 2026, paying $1,885 weekly. You'll work 3x12 night shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with 101 beds. Patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You must be flexible and willing to float to all sections within the ED, though you will not float outside the department. You'll document using the Cerner electronic health record system and operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors. Technicians are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage. Unit clerks support both day and night shifts.

You will maintain updated patient boards with current information and follow AIDET patient experience standards, demonstrating respectful behavior and consistent communication throughout each patient visit.

Scheduling and Requirements

Every other weekend scheduling is required with flexibility to meet department needs. Block scheduling is not available. You must wear navy scrubs as required by the facility.

Qualifications

You must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting. Preferred experience includes work in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 visits annually. You must demonstrate a teamwork mentality, ability to coach and provide real-time feedback, and flexibility to work in all areas of the ED.

Required Certifications

Prior to your start date, you must have ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications. ENPC certification is required within 90 days of hire.
