PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center, located at 1400 S Dobson Road in Mesa, Arizona. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour day shifts per week. Your weekly pay is $2,559.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for PCU patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural needs, and discharge planning requirements
• Review patient history, diagnostic results, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal findings promptly to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, including discharge planning
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed nurses and other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, modifying care plans as needed
• Document all assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in patient records
• Participate in unit and facility shared leadership initiatives and contribute to national nursing quality indicator improvements
• Precept and mentor nursing staff, students, and other personnel
• Work a varied schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and departmental float assignments per unit guidelines

Required qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona or compact RN licensure
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year of acute care hospital experience with specialty area experience within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; may lift up to 75 pounds
• Standard precautions compliance due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Professional nursing certification
