RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Varied work schedule with weekend and holiday rotation required
• Possible float to support other units
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards
• Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within appropriate timeframes
• Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and maintain individualized plans of care, including discharge planning, utilizing patient and family input
• Implement plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
• Delegate appropriately and provide nursing supervision to licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and in a timely manner in the patient record
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and support education, orientation, and mentoring of staff
• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting required, with experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
• May be required to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids
