Telemetry RN Job in Corpus Christi, TX

Join Doctors Regional Medical Center as a Telemetry RN on a 13-week travel assignment. You'll work the night shift (7 PM–7 AM) three days per week, providing direct patient care in a 16-bed telemetry unit with the ability to flex up to 12 inpatient beds based on hospital census.

Your Role:

• Care for medical and surgical patients with a maximum patient ratio of 6:1
• Manage a patient load of 4 to 6 patients per shift
• Perform IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, and central line maintenance
• Administer medications and maintain accurate EHR documentation using the Meditech system
• Communicate and collaborate with the interprofessional care team
• Float to other medical/surgical units as needed

Your Unit:

The telemetry unit consists of 8 inpatient beds plus 8 admission unit beds. Both day and night shifts are staffed with one charge nurse, two RNs, and one PCA to support your workflow.

Requirements:

• Current RN certification
• Minimum 1 year of acute medical/surgical experience within the past year
• Ability to care for multiple patients in a fast-paced setting
• Willingness to rotate weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of acute medical/surgical experience within the past year
• Orthopedic or neuro-surgery background; medical/surgical or telemetry experience will also be considered
• Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
