PCU Registered Nurse Job in Morgantown, WV

WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN (Registered Nurse) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required; holidays worked as scheduled
• No on-call or standby duties
• Weekly pay: $2,488.32

Unit Overview

You will work in a flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 3:1 for step-down assignments and 6:1 for floor/med-surg assignments. You must be capable of managing both a 6-patient med-surg assignment and a 3-patient step-down assignment based on patient and hospital needs.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and HiFlow equipment
• Provide step-down patient care, including ventilator management (ICU transfer required for vent setting adjustments)
• Titrate drips including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, opioid PCAs (morphine, Dilaudid, fentanyl), and TPN
• Use Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment with remote surveillance center support (you are not expected to read your own strips)
• Chart in the EPIC system

Support and Staffing

• Charge RNs and House Supervisors available 24/7
• Clinical Associates (nurse aides) with a goal of 1:10 ratio
• First to float or be pulled to other floor or step-down units as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• BSN not required
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of royal blue and white
