Med Surg RN Job in Springfield, MO

You will work 3x12 night shifts (6:30 PM–7:00 AM) on a combined obstetrics/gynecology and medical-surgical unit at Mercy Hospital Springfield. This is a 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week and every third weekend required. No call responsibilities.

What you'll do:

• Provide direct patient care to mothers, babies, and medical-surgical patients
• Support GYN surgical, bariatric, and colorectal procedures
• Manage a typical patient ratio of 6:1 on a 24-bed adult and 10-bed newborn unit (estimates, not guarantees)
• Document in EPIC EMR and operate Alaris IV pumps
• Coordinate care with other departments and maintain professional accountability
• Float to other units as facility needs require, based on your skill level

What we need:

• Current RN license meeting Missouri licensure criteria or current Missouri licensure
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg or Mother/Baby experience
• Both Mother/Baby and Med Surg experience preferred
• BLS certification from AHA (required)
• NRP and STABLE certifications preferred
• Willingness to orient on day shift and be available for the entire orientation week before transitioning to nights

About the role:

You will be a team player with a positive attitude and self-starter mentality. Scrubs must be black only; Mercy-branded tops are required. Float assignments may occur based on facility census and your qualifications.
