RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-week contract with the option to sign for 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week
• 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with acute medicine diagnoses including diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule outs, and cancer patients not currently receiving chemotherapy
• This unit does not care for surgical patients
• Bedside procedures may include thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and simple suture/debridement
• Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, heparin and insulin administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, and phlebotomy
• Must pass Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Will float within service line to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting system: Epic experience required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
