Pediatric Respiratory Therapist in Cartersville, GA

Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join its neonatal team. You'll work 3x12 night shifts for an 84-week assignment starting September 21, 2026, at $1,903 weekly.

Role Overview

You'll provide respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU, including mechanical ventilation management, extubation assistance, airway placement, and weaning support. You'll float within the facility as needed and work within your scope of practice. Every other weekend coverage is required, with no on-call responsibilities.

Required Credentials and Experience

• RRT credential (CRT not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; first-time travelers are welcome
• Current BLS, NRP, RRT, and PALS certifications
• Charting system experience, including Epic

Core Clinical Skills

• Intubation assist and extubation
• Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Bag and mask ventilation
• Mechanical ventilation setup and troubleshooting
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP, BiPAP, and Bubble CPAP
• Oscillating ventilator operation
• High pressure alarm troubleshooting
• Weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Sputum specimen collection

Holiday Coverage

If one or two major holidays fall during your assignment, you are expected to work all of them. If three or more major holidays fall during your assignment, you are expected to work two of them.
