Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Athens, GA

Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a pediatric respiratory and neuro diagnostics role in Athens, Georgia. This is a travel assignment offering 3x12 night shifts over 84 weeks, with a start date of September 21, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide respiratory care across multiple patient populations, including neonates, infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Your responsibilities include mechanical ventilation management, intubation assistance, arterial blood gas collection and interpretation, tracheostomy care, and neonatal transport support. You will work with advanced respiratory technologies including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, nitric oxide therapy, and oscillating ventilators. Bronchoscopy assistance and pulmonary hygiene procedures are also part of your scope.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: Every other weekend required; no on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio: 1:14 on nights
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Electronic health record: Epic
• Weekly pay: $1,903

Requirements

• RRT credential required; CRT credentials not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and current RRT
• Expertise in adult and pediatric critical care, mechanical ventilation, intubation assistance, and neonatal care

Contract Terms

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Holiday coverage required; you may be expected to work up to two major holidays if they fall within your assignment period
