Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

Join Rapides Regional Medical Center as a Med Surg RN on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) on a rotating schedule, three shifts per week, with every other weekend and holidays required.

Unit Overview

• 36-bed Med Surg unit with 1:6 patient ratio
• Float to other units as needed per facility floating policy
• Telemetry monitoring, vital signs equipment (Dynamaps), glucometers, bladder scanners, and iMobile phones

Your Responsibilities

• Document patient care using the Meditech system (Meditech experience preferred)
• Perform PICC line removal and temporary/vascular catheter removal
• Demonstrate telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
• Conduct hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, My Care Boards, and AIDET practices
• Provide thorough patient assessments with strong attention to detail

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required prior to submission
• Strong nursing background with solid assessment skills
• Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, flexibility, dependability, and teamwork
• Self-motivation and strong multitasking abilities
• Ceil blue scrubs required per dress code
