Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital is seeking an RN for a Medical / Surgical unit night shift position in Alexandria, LA. This 91-day travel assignment runs 3x12 nights, working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Schedule & Compensation

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees available
• Overtime not billable until after 48 hours
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Weekly pay: $2,300
• Start date: October 5, 2026

Role Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care while practicing independently
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitor for side effects
• Assess and address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers

Unit Details

• Nurse to patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1
• EMR system: Epic
• Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs
• Candidates must be willing to float

Requirements

• RN License in state of employment or compact required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
