Telemetry RN Job in Stockbridge, GA

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for a travel assignment in our 32-bed Telemetry unit. This is a 140-day contract beginning August 31, 2026, working 3x12 shifts on days. You will earn $1,792 weekly.

Position Overview

You will care for adult to geriatric patients with a ratio of 1:5–6 on weekdays and nights, and 1:6 on weekends. The unit serves overflow from the IMCU and manages patients with cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal conditions, pulmonary diagnoses (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, stable arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization cases. You will also care for surgical overflow including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and chest tube patients, as well as occasional vascular, orthopedic, and CVA admissions.

Required Experience and Certifications

You must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and prior travel experience. A Georgia or Compact nursing license is required. You must hold current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications and pass a telemetry competency exam.

Essential Skills

You will manage continuous cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics and anticoagulants. You must be proficient in cardiac telemetry, arrhythmia interpretation and management, hemodynamic monitoring, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, heparin protocols, TR Band management, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, and peripheral IV management. Additional skills include HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP management, and rapid response team participation. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7.

Scheduling and Expectations

You will work every other weekend on a rotating schedule; permanent staff are scheduled first. Floating within facility scope is required. Call is rare with a 2-hour response time. You may request up to 7 days off per contract; all time off must be finalized at submission. Holiday coverage is expected: work all holidays if 1–2 major holidays fall within your assignment; work 2 of 3 or more major holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day.

Additional Information

You will wear navy blue scrubs. Epic is the preferred charting system; you will also use Pyxis and SBAR. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Prior charge nurse experience is preferred.
