About this role

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 32-bed Telemetry unit in Stockbridge, Georgia. This is a 140-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, working 3x12-hour night shifts at $1,903 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Your patient ratio will be 1:5–6 on days and nights, and 1:6 on weekends. You must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers are not accepted.

Clinical Requirements

You must be proficient in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, arrhythmia management, cardioversion, and hemodynamic monitoring. Central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and TR Band management are core competencies. You will titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage cardiac catheterization pre/post care, and apply heparin protocols. A telemetry competency exam is required.

You must have documented experience managing continuous IV drips including cardiac medications (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips. This is a hard requirement.

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include cardiac CHF, chest pain, stable cardiac arrhythmias (A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia), pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, DKA, post cardiac catheterization, and surgical overflow cases. You may encounter overflow from intermediate care, orthopedics, or stroke units.

Scheduling & Support

Permanent staff are scheduled first; you will fill staffing gaps, typically every other weekend. You may request up to 7 days off per contract, with all requests finalized at submission. Call is rare with a 2-hour response time. Floating within scope of practice is required. Holiday coverage applies if major holidays fall within your assignment.

Credentials & Certifications

  • Georgia or Compact nursing license
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Epic charting experience preferred

The unit uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation. Respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy support are available 24/7. Special equipment includes HFNC, BiPAP, and CPAP.
