Med Surg RN Job in Omaha, NE

You'll work as a registered nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 119-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• $2,310 weekly pay
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Role Details

You'll care for medical-surgical patients, including post-operative recovery patients and oncology med/surg overflow. You'll maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and float as needed within your scope of practice. The unit uses EPIC charting and respiratory equipment including nasal cannula.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• One year of nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Must pass an open-book skills exam on Friday during orientation with a 90% score required
• Valid driver's license required for distance verification
• BSN degree not required

Eligibility Restrictions

• You must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• You cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities during this assignment

Facility Policies

• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care departments

If you hold charge nurse experience, you must have at least one year of nursing experience. This assignment offers a straightforward med-surg experience with clear expectations and support during your orientation.
