RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Charge RN night shift position working 12-hour nights
• Shift times: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (rotating)
• Charge RN will ideally not take a patient assignment, but may take patients if staffing requires it
• Weekend requirement: as needed
• Holiday requirement: as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• 42-bed Medical, Surgical, and Orthopedic unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6/7 under the Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) dyad model
• Each nurse is supported by their own CNA (1:6/7 ratio) and a virtual nurse (1:30 ratio)
• Common diagnoses include medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients
• Titratable drips limited to Heparin only
• Respiratory therapy available 24 hours on the floor
• Telemetry available on the floor with a centralized telemetry station
• Floating may be required to PCU or Burn unit
• Scrub color: Navy blue — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Orientation consists of one week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility and may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity affiliated facility
