PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center, located at 1400 S Dobson Rd in Mesa, Arizona. This is a 3x12 day shift position with an 89-day contract beginning November 16, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,582.10.

Your responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for PCU patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural needs, and discharge planning. You will review patient histories, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal findings to physicians and appropriate caregivers.

In this role, you will:

• Formulate and implement individualized care plans including discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed nurses and other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in the patient record
• Participate in unit and facility shared leadership initiatives and contribute to quality improvement efforts
• Precept and mentor staff, students, and other personnel as appropriate
• Work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and float assignments per department guidelines

Requirements: You must hold a current, valid RN license in Arizona or compact RN licensure. BLS certification is required. Minimum one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting is required, with experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months. A Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred.

You must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. You may be required to lift up to 75 pounds. You will use standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
