About this role

University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking an Allied Health Professional Special Procedures Technologist for our Interventional Radiology program. You will work in a Hybrid OR environment providing comprehensive imaging and procedural support for vascular interventional cases.

  • Schedule: 5x8 day shifts, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotating call every 4th week
  • Duration: 182 days, beginning September 28, 2026
  • Weekly Pay: $3,137

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operate the C-arm and imaging controls during vascular IR procedures
  • Run the table and manage equipment during cases
  • Perform 3D imaging and work with fusion technology on the Siemens ARTIS PHENO system
  • Prepare Epic documentation and pull inventory prior to procedures
  • Use HI-IQ to track equipment and supplies used during cases
  • Actively engage throughout each procedure, including filming and post-processing images
  • Support simple surgical cases with C-arm and X-ray staff during downtime, including Impella placements and cystoscopies
  • Collaborate with vascular surgeons, OR teams, and procedural staff

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of vascular/interventional radiology experience
  • ARRT VI certification and current BLS
  • Virginia license (pending license accepted)
  • Epic charting system experience
  • Strong familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures and independent work capability
  • Proficiency in angioplasty, carotid stenting, endovascular interventions, EVAR, TEVAR, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, vascular closure systems, and upper and lower extremity angiography
  • Experience with ultrasound and access site preparation

Preferred: Trauma Level I facility experience

This position requires you to be actively involved in the entire case workflow rather than operating equipment passively. You will work in a dynamic environment where strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently are essential. A 50-mile radius applies to this assignment.
