Special Procedures Technologist in Charlottesville, VA

University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Interventional Radiology and Cardiology. You will provide imaging support in the operating room, working with vascular interventional procedures in a Hybrid OR environment.

Schedule and Duration:

• 4×10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Rotating call required every 4th week
• 91-day assignment starting September 28, 2026
• Weekly pay: $3,177

Your Responsibilities:

• Pull inventory and order cases in Epic prior to procedures
• Run the table and controls during vascular IR cases
• Perform 3D spins and work with fusion technology
• Actively engage throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
• Document and track inventory used during cases via HI-IQ
• Collaborate closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and procedural staff
• Support simple surgical cases on the C-arm during downtime, including Impellas and cystos, alongside X-ray staff

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in special procedures
• Strong vascular and IR experience; Hybrid OR procedure familiarity required
• ARRT VI and BLS certifications
• Virginia license (pending license accepted; must be in hand before start date)
• Epic experience required
• Ability to work independently
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
